This literature review will consist of seven parts. The first and second parts will broadly be aimed to establish the background to user education pro­grams through identification of the objectives of aca­demic libraries and their users. The following sections will discuss the definition and concepts of user education programs, methods and strategies to handle the programs and fac­tors contributing to the suc­cess of the programs including timing, requirements for the perform­ers, sup­ports and cooperation.
