This literature review will consist of seven parts. The first and second parts will broadly be aimed to establish the background to user education programs through identification of the objectives of academic libraries and their users. The following sections will discuss the definition and concepts of user education programs, methods and strategies to handle the programs and factors contributing to the success of the programs including timing, requirements for the performers, supports and cooperation.
